Décidément, il a fallu que j'assiste and gives a talk at TEDxCarthage out of my lethargy blogosphere. I did not hesitate a second when I received an invite to speak to TEDx, first because I know that TED is a conference of quality, and secondly because I see that the concept of sharing through a bad patch in our country and we need this type of events for a booster. The two things that marked me most is the quality of organization and choice of speakers. In terms of organization, the team did a remarkable job to configure the room, manage the sessions in accordance constraints of time and space, keeping their cool against the unexpected (I know this is not at all obvious), and ensure that everyone feels comfortable and it does There is not too much formality.
The speakers I was very impressed by the quality of their talks and the diversity of their personal careers. Many people have criticized the event, saying that "we imported an American concept." It is true that ASD reflects a mindset that is found mainly in the United States, based on the development of individual experiences of characters known. But I think we definitely succeeded in "tunisifier" the concept by inviting people who are not necessarily all famous, in which we can all be found because they do not take us from above and are not there to play guides spiritually, and who spoke on topics that directly affect the Tunisians, particularly the youngest among them because ultimately they are the overwhelming majority of our society.
Submissions that marked me the most are those of Mrs. Asma Ben Hamida and Olfa Youssef. Asma showed examples of women of Hay Ettadhamen that came out of poverty working on projects funded by micro-credits of Enda. I was very moved to see how the ambition of those women who can neither read nor write, knew no bounds, and they managed to leave the insecure - even to get rich - by relying on themselves without even the grace to wait until they fall from the sky or the Ministry of Social Affairs. Congratulations to all these women for their sense of entrepreneurship and creativity, and well done to Enda for having supported financially.
Olfa insurgent was literally revolted against the unilateral interpretations, ideological manipulation and attempts to institutionalize Islam. She spoke of the quest for 'touma2nina' (a word that I will not try to translate it to lose its subtlety) ... aspire to live in a society that recognizes that the Koranic text remains subject to infinite interpretations, which overcomes the religious political and media manipulation, and especially when we recognize that people are different from each other and that this multiplicity is that it can no longer impose a single way of life, nor offer them 'Revenue to paradise' as she puts it. She spoke in a perfect Fosha, maintaining a set theatrical equivalents. It was great.
.
Thanks to all the other speakers for giving me think about many other topics; AIDS, ecological threat in the Mediterranean, our old friend Anonymous; Maghrebi identity, cultures of Internet. I would say two months of presence in Tunisia is the only day I felt my brain was still working!
Bravo donc aux organisateurs de TEDx. Merci à Slim, Houssem, Amin, Karim, Hatem, Fares, Mourad et tous les autres soldats de l'ombre pour le beau travail que vous avez fait! Yaatikom Essaha.
Ayya à quand le prochain TEDx? ;)
